Dead Ringer is a 1964 thriller. One of the interesting facts about the movie is that it was directed by Paul Henreid. Henreid was better known for his roles in front of the camera. Bette Davis, Karl Malden and Peter Lawford star along with a large supporting cast. Another interesting fact about the movie is that Davis plays twin sisters. Davis had also played twin sisters in an earlier film titled A Stolen Life. The story focuses on Margeret DeLorca and Edith Phillips. The two sisters meet at the funeral of Margaret’s husband. They have not spoken for over eighteen years. Margaret’s dead husband was the reason for the estrangement between the two sisters. Edith kills her sister and assumes her identity. This is a classic Bette Davis movie.
