There’s a new sheriff in town, and he’s got a new deputy. After the death of the old sheriff, Rags Barnaby is installed as a kind of puppet sheriff by some of the more crooked elements in town. Much to their surprise, and eventual dismay, Rags hires a young man named Destry. He doesn’t carry a gun, but he’s tougher than he looks and he’s curious to know how the old sheriff died. Audie Murphy stars as the title character in this western directed by George Marshall in 1954.
