Watch Dog Soldiers
- 1 hr 41 min
Dog Soldiers was a 2002 British horror film that dealt with the government trying to capture werewolves, and a troop of regular soldiers have to face off with the shape-shifting monstrosities. The film opens with a camping couple, and a woman giving her significant other a silver letter opener. They're attacked by the monsters, and presumably eaten. The scene cuts to Private Cooper running the last leg of the SAS trial course. Ryan, the commander, tells Cooper to kill the dog that found him. He refuses, is failed, and strikes Ryan before Cooper is returned to his unit. A month later Cooper and the rest of his unit are deployed in a training exercise against a group of SAS commandos. When the regular troops find the remains of the SAS contingent, along with their gear packing live rounds, they arm themselves and prepare for whatever it was that killed the elite special forces operatives. They find Ryan, lose one man to impalement, and the sergeant is attacked before they come across a girl who takes them to a farmhouse where they can hole up and watch the night. What follows is a desperate, tactical stand against the assault of the werewolves, even as both Ryan and the sergeant begin changing into the creatures that attacked them. With guns, knives, explosives and even a claymore, Cooper is the only one left standing in the end where he has to face down Ryan. He comes across the silver letter opener from the film's opening and puts it to good use, killing the erstwhile special operations soldier and then walking away from the ruined farmhouse. Not only does Cooper walk away, but he also takes pictures of the incident with him, showing undeniable proof that he and his squad mates faced off against a genuine, supernatural threat. All of the photos are shown during the film's credits.
