Watch Essex Boys

Essex Boys is a dramatic crime thriller that tells the story of three drug dealers who were murdered. The film focuses on Billy Reynolds, a cab driver who gets caught up in the gritty London underworld. Billy is ambitious but a bit naïve, and he soon finds himself in way over his head. Jason and John are two of London’s most notorious gangsters who make a lot of money smuggling drugs into the city. The dealers’ main stock in trade is the party drug Ecstasy. One day, they get a bad batch which causes Jason and John to fight each other, each accusing the other of having messed up. Jason is also facing marital problems at home. He is married to the beautiful Lisa but constantly abuses her and has affairs with other women. Lisa catches Jason in the physical act of cheating on her, and she is furious. She tells everyone that when he was in prison, she was faithful and didn’t have sex at all for five years. Jason does not care. Jason ends up hiring Billy to be his driver while he goes around London committing crimes. Billy sees a lot while working for Jason. Jason kills people and throws bodies out of the car, but ever-faithful Billy says nothing. Jason also attempts to rape a girl in the back of Billy’s cab. When she puts up a fight, he strangles her to death. Lisa ends up getting the last laugh on all the men. She is rumored to have arranged Jason’s eventual murder at the end of the film, but the killer is never caught. She also learns about his bad business and turns Billy into the police as an accomplice. The film is based on a true story, and the murders of Jason and his cohorts remain unsolved today. The film attempts to answer some of the questions surrounding the murder.
