Evel Knievel is still considered by many to be the "greatest stuntman of all time," but the story of how he went from being an unknown motorcycle enthusiast from Butte, Montana to being the greatest sensation the stunt world has ever seen needs to be told from the beginning to understand Evel's motivation. Evel Knievel started out by doing local jumps that gathered a lot of attention for their danger and for Evel's showmanship. Thanks to some marketing genius on his part, Evel Knievel was eventually able to jump the fountains at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace to cement his place in history. But his story is much more than just jumping over fountains.
