- 1 hr 35 min
Jesse and his beloved Orca Willy are back in this sequel to the classic family film Free Willy. Free Willy 2 picks up two years after Jesse frees Willy in the iconic scene where Willy jumps over Jesse and a wall of cliffs towards his freedom. Since freeing Willy, Jesse has been adopted by Glen and Annie Greenwood and has settled nicely into his new life. He has his eyes on girls and is adapting to school when the family decides to take a vacation to Puerto Rico. Before they leave, however, Jesse finds out that he has a half-brother, Elvis, who was left behind by their birth mother. Elvis moves in with Jesse and his new parents, and the four of them travel to San Juan in an effort to have Jesse and Elvis bond. Once there, Jesse sees his old friend Randolph again, and his old friend, Willy. As Jesse grows closer to Randolph's granddaughter Nadine, he also begins swimming with Willy and Willy's siblings, Luna and Little Spot. Their happy few days are shattered when an oil tank spills in the ocean, and the three young whales become trapped in a cove. While Luna is dying from oil in her lungs, Jesse and Elvis hatch a plan to save the whales. The president of the oil company responsible for the spill reassures the children that he wants to help the whales, but the boys know that he's keeping a secret which threatens Willy and his family's lives. Jesse, Elvis and Nadine unite to save the whales, and Elvis and Jesse become closer to each other in the process. A fun-filled adventure for the whole family, Free Willy 2 showcases the importance of family, friendship, and fighting for what you believe in the most.
