Gun City is a Spanish thriller movie set in Barcelona in the early 1920s. The movie features Luis Tosar as Aníbal Uriarte, a tough and experienced police officer from Bilbao who arrives in the city to help the local forces in their fight against organized crime. Uriarte is sent to infiltrate a gang of thieves who are planning a big heist in the city's central district. However, as he delves deeper into the underworld, he discovers that things are not as black and white as they seem.

As soon as Uriarte arrives in Barcelona, he realizes that the city is a powder keg waiting to explode. The population is divided into two factions, the working class and the bourgeoisie, each fighting for their rights and interests. The police are unable to control the increasing crime rate, and the criminals seem to have an upper hand. Uriarte is a man who sticks to his principles, but he soon realizes that he will have to bend them to survive in this hostile environment.

Uriarte's mission is to infiltrate a gang led by the charismatic Tísico (played by Vicente Romero) and his right-hand man Basilio (played by Paco Tous). The gang is planning to steal a large shipment of weapons that has arrived in the port. Uriarte poses as a convict who has just been released from prison and is looking for a way to make quick money. He gains the trust of Tísico and his gang and slowly starts to unravel their plans.

During the course of the movie, Uriarte meets Sara (played by Michelle Jenner), a young woman who works in a bar and is also involved in the fight for workers' rights. Sara is a strong, independent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. As Uriarte spends more time with her, he realizes that he is attracted to her and starts to develop feelings for her. However, the relationship between the two is complicated and fraught with danger.

The movie is a thrilling ride that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats throughout. The plot is well-crafted, with several twists and turns that keep the viewer guessing until the end. The action scenes are well choreographed and executed, and the cinematography is stunning. The movie also has some political undertones, with themes of workers' rights, social inequality, and corruption prevalent throughout.

The performances of the lead actors are outstanding. Luis Tosar delivers a solid performance as the tough and determined Uriarte, while Michelle Jenner shines as the fiery and confident Sara. Vicente Romero is brilliant as the menacing Tísico, and Paco Tous is excellent as his loyal henchman. The supporting cast is also noteworthy and adds to the richness of the movie.

Overall, Gun City is a must-watch for fans of the thriller genre. It has all the elements of a classic crime movie, with a dash of romance and political commentary thrown in. The movie is a testament to the talent of Spanish filmmakers and actors and solidifies Spain's place as a force to be reckoned with in the global film industry.

Gun City is a 2018 drama with a runtime of 2 hours and 6 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.3.
