Watch Half Nelson

Half Nelson is a drama film that was first released in 2006. Half Nelson involves an inner-city middle school teacher who happens to have a serious drug problem. The teacher covers up his drug problem and the reasons why he became an addict in the first place. However, things start to change for the man when one of his students discovers his drug problem, and he is forced to become friends with him. This eventually results in the teacher taking a look at his life, and him discovering truths about his students that he had never realized before.

Half Nelson was written and directed by Ryan Fleck. It was also co-written with the help of Anna Boden. The drug addicted teacher is played by Ryan Gosling, and the student is played by Anthony Mackie. Shareeka Epps is also featured in the movie. Ryan Gosling was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film.
