High Speed is an action-packed thriller from 2002 that follows the story of Jack, a young and daring street racer who yearns for excitement and adventure. Jack is played by Paul Nicholls, a British actor who is best known for his roles in EastEnders and The C Word. Alongside Nicholls, the film stars Andrew Lee Potts, who plays Jack's best friend, Sam, and Massimo Ghini, who plays an Italian mob boss named Enzo. The movie also features a talented supporting cast, including Claire Forlani, Charles Dance, and Richard Roundtree.

The story begins with Jack and Sam participating in an illegal street race, which ends in disaster when one of their rivals crashes and dies. Soon after, Jack is approached by Enzo, who offers him a proposition he can't refuse: drive one of his high-tech, supercharged racing cars in a series of dangerous and lucrative races across Europe.

Jack jumps at the opportunity and is quickly swept up in the world of underground racing, where the stakes are high, the risks are deadly, and the competition is fierce. Along the way, Jack and Sam form alliances with other racers, including the beautiful and mysterious Claudia (played by Forlani), and must navigate a web of deceit and betrayal as they try to stay one step ahead of Enzo and his ruthless criminal organization.

The action in High Speed is fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled, with plenty of high-octane chase scenes, gun battles, and explosions. The special effects are impressive, especially the sequences showing the sleek, futuristic racing cars in action. The film's soundtrack is also noteworthy, featuring a mix of hard-rocking tunes and more atmospheric, electronic tracks.

Despite the film's emphasis on action and spectacle, there are also some quieter moments of character development, particularly between Jack and Sam, whose friendship is put to the test as they face increasingly dangerous situations.

Overall, High Speed is an entertaining and well-executed thriller that should appeal to fans of fast cars and high-stakes action. While it may not break new ground in terms of plot or character development, it more than makes up for it with its thrilling set pieces and engaging performances.
