Housefull 2 is a 2012 Indian comedy film directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It is the sequel to the 2010 film Housefull and features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Asin Thottumkal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Zarine Khan, and Shazahn Padamsee. The film revolves around two wealthy businessmen, Dharam (played by Ritesh Deshmukh) and Gaurav (played by Shreyas Talpade), who are the best of friends but their fathers are sworn enemies. To put an end to their fathers' rivalry, Dharam and Gaurav decide to get their sons married to each other. However, the two sons, Jai (played by Shazahn Padamsee) and Jolly (played by Ritesh Deshmukh), have already fallen in love with other girls.
To complicate matters further, Jai and Jolly's girlfriends, Payal (played by Jacqueline Fernandez) and JLo (played by Zarine Khan), are friends and they have a common enemy in the form of Bobby (played by John Abraham), who is out to seek revenge from all of them. Bobby's sister, Henna (played by Asin Thottumkal), enters the scene and creates more confusion.
The story moves forward with some hilarious incidents and several twists and turns. There are instances of mistaken identity, characters dying and returning to life, and amusing situations that keep the audience entertained throughout.
The film's strength lies in its performances, with each actor delivering their best. Akshay Kumar shines as Sunny, the youngest son of a billionaire father who pretends to be mentally challenged to inherit his father's wealth. Ritesh Deshmukh, as always, is a laugh riot with his impeccable comic timing. John Abraham's performance as the antagonist reiterates his versatility as an actor. Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, and Asin Thottumkal all play their parts well.
The music of Housefull 2, by Sajid-Wajid and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is catchy and adds to the fun quotient of the film. The song "Anarkali Disco Chali" became an instant hit and is still a popular dance number.
The film's production value is top-notch, with the scenic locations of England and Italy adding to its charm. The direction by Sajid Khan is commendable as he manages to keep the tempo of the film high throughout.
Overall, Housefull 2 is a perfect entertainer for those who enjoy light-hearted, slapstick comedy films. It has its share of flaws, but the performances and comic timing of the actors make it a must-watch.
