A professor, actress, baseball player, and Senator are all at the peak of their popularity in the 1950's. Each has their own personality, but all of them feel that they are very different from each other. They live their lives as though they are the only people who really matter. They all feel supremely significant. One day, the four of them have a chance meeting in a hotel room and start discussing their endeavors. Over time, it becomes apparent that these four cultural icons actually have a lot in common. But are they willing to risk admitting that in public and become insignificant?
