Jaane-Anjaane is a Bollywood drama film released in 1971, directed by Shakti Samanta and starring Shammi Kapoor, Leena Chandavarkar, and Sandhya Roy. The film revolves around the life of Ashok (played by Shammi Kapoor), a wealthy businessman, who is forced to marry his secretary Rekha (played by Leena Chandavarkar) by his dying grandfather's will. Despite being married and having a son, Ashok is unable to forget his first love, Usha (played by Sandhya Roy).

The film begins with a flashback of Ashok's college days, where he meets Usha, a talented singer. The two fall in love and plan to get married, but due to some misunderstandings, Usha leaves Ashok and marries another man. Ashok later meets Rekha and marries her, but their marriage is loveless. Ashok is constantly haunted by his memories of Usha and misses her terribly.

Soon, Ashok receives the news of Usha's husband passing away and decides to reunite with her. He discovers that Usha has a daughter, Meena, who bears a striking resemblance to him. However, their reunion is short-lived as Usha's mother does not approve of their relationship and threatens to reveal the truth to everyone. To protect Usha and Meena, Ashok decides to leave them and return to his life with Rekha and his son.

Years pass, and Meena grows up to be a successful doctor. She meets Ashok's son and falls in love with him. However, Ashok is apprehensive about their relationship as he fears that Meena might discover the truth about their past. The film ends with an emotional climax where Ashok finally reveals the truth to Meena.

Jaane-Anjaane is a beautiful story of love and sacrifice, showcasing how difficult it is to choose between one's own happiness and the happiness of others. The performances by the lead actors are commendable, especially Shammi Kapoor, who shines in his role as the conflicted protagonist. The film's music by Shankar-Jaikishan is memorable, with songs like "Jaane-Anjaane" and "Kisi Shaayar Ki Ghazal" becoming iconic over the years.

Overall, Jaane-Anjaane is a must-watch for all Bollywood fans, with its timeless story and brilliant performances making it a classic of its time.
