Kill the Messenger
Kill the Messenger is a biography drama that was released in 2014. The film centers on a reporter who writes an article on the CIA’s involvement with the contras, and how they were able to pay for the program by bringing cocaine into the US. This resulted in the crack epidemic in poor urban communities across the United States. This results in the reporter being the target of a smear campaign that makes his life exceptionally difficult. Kill the Messenger was directed by Michael Cuesta. It is based on a book by Gary Webb, and the film was made into a screenplay by Peter Landesman.
