Korczak is a controversial Polish black-and-white epic film about final days of Janusz Korczak, a real life Jewish humanitarian and teacher who lived in Poland during World War II. The film chronicles Korczak's renowned efforts in sheltering over 200 children in his Warsaw orphanage during World War II despite horrifying realities unfolding right outside the orphanage doors, in addition too numerous opportunities to save himself. With over 200 children to care for, Korczak faces a tall task, but despite his struggles to fund his orphanage and a building sense of doom, he offers the children under his care a temporary escape from the terrors of the Holocaust.
