Kulimlim is a Filipino horror-thriller movie released in 2004, directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes and starring Robin Padilla, Tanya Garcia, and Jhong Hilario. The movie centers on the mysterious disappearance of a group of mountaineers who went to explore Mt. Arayat, a famous mountain located in Central Luzon, Philippines. As the movie begins, a team of mountaineers consisting of two couples and a guide embark on a journey to explore the legendary Mt. Arayat. The group consisted of Leon (Robin Padilla) and his girlfriend Sophia (Tanya Garcia), Edwin (Jhong Hilario) and his girlfriend Ruth (Katrina Paula), and their guide named Raul (Paolo Contis). Everything seems to be going fine until they reach the top of the mountain and set up camp for the night.

However, things take a dark turn when they start experiencing strange and eerie occurrences. Strange sounds and voices are heard, and they begin to feel a lurking presence in the surrounding mountains. As they delve deeper into the mysteries of the mountain, they discover secrets that could threaten their lives.

The movie's plot progresses with an unexplained event happening that causes the group to lose consciousness for hours. Upon waking up, they discover that their tents and food supply have been burned to the ground, and their only escape route is blocked off by a menacing fog. With no communication or means of transportation, the group must explore the mountain to stay alive and solve the mysterious disappearance of the previous mountaineers.

Throughout the film, director Maryo de los Reyes maintains an eerie and suspenseful atmosphere through the use of excellent cinematography and an exceptional soundtrack that keeps viewers at the edge of their seats. The scenes shot in the dark, misty mountains are chilling, and the characters' sense of panic is palpable, which creates a tense and compelling viewing experience.

The movie's cast is also exceptional, with Robin Padilla giving a standout performance as the leader of the group, struggling to lead his friends to safety and keep them together amidst the growing panic and danger. Tanya Garcia's portrayal of Sophia, his girlfriend, is also noteworthy, bringing both emotional depth and a sense of realism to the character.

Jhong Hilario and Katrina Paula round out the cast and provide excellent support to the film's central characters, adding depth and dimension to the entire cast.
