In the upstate New York town of Willowpoint Falls, young Frankie Scarlatti gets locked in the school cloakroom on Halloween night, the victim of a prank. He becomes a witness to a past murder and almost becomes the next victim of a serial killer. The town is haunted by a child-murdering serial killer who has never been caught even after ten helpless victims. The latest victim, young Melissa Montgomery, reaches out from beyond the grave to Frankie, the one person who she feels closest to.
