The 2006 Drama Mystery Long Lost Son starring Craig Sheffer, Chace Crawford, and Gabrielle Anwar is a film about a woman discovering her long lost son which she thought had drowned to his death is now alive living with a man who has kidnapped him. The film directed by Brain Trenchard-Smith and was written by Richard Blade. According to Blade, it isn't your average drama movie, as "it has a bit of suspense to it". The film earned a 5.6 rating out of 10 from movie critics with a budget of about $2 million. Law student, wife, and mother Kristen Sheppard drives with her husband whom she wishes to divorce, Quinn Halloran, had hoped to restart their life together in the Florida Keys, but are preparing for a divorce. On a normal weekend afternoon Quinn and their 4 year old son Mark enjoy a day at the sea. They sail with a yacht at the Ocean Dreamer, but both pass away from a horrific accident of them drowning. Kristen loses hope for her son being alive. Fourteen years later, Kristen is now an attorney and is remarried to a man named Steve Collins. She recognizes on a friends' Caribbean holiday home video that a supposed Canadian father named John looks like her ex husband along with his son who is now named Matthew. The two are now running a yacht in Phoenix. Caribbean Dive tourists go to the father and son to enjoy the Caribbean. The son and father who is the kidnapper of Kristen's son now live in a small island in the Caribbean. Quinn assumes and is certain that the cute athletic boy is her son Mark. Despite flying in to the Caribbean without any passport, she's allowed in miraculously. $400 buys her to get the dream day with her son at sea, who has tells her about all his fond memories about his kind mother. He believe she passed away in a horrific fire at the age of three, which was his father's reason on why they moved to a new Caribbean country in the first place. The father and son move to different Caribbean countries every couple years. However, unfortunately, the police officer Boden whom Kristen seeks advice from tells the popular Quinn about her story. This then urges Quinn to tell Matt to leave the Salt Cay immediately and permanently.
