He is attempting to get a princess to marry him, and the only chance he has is by kidnapping her. His objective is to become the King of the planet, and so he also kills the princesses father to open up the claim to the throne. At this time, the planet is attacked by marines. The Leprechaun is able to kill one, but he is ultimately killed when he sacrifices himself to save the princess. When one of the marines comes in contact with the Leprechaun's body he becomes possessed. The princess is taken on the ship with the marines, because the captain has figured out that she has the ability to regenerate damaged body parts. Thus, he wants to use her to heal his own body. Additionally, the Leprechaun resurfaces by breaking out of the body of the marine that became possessed during the battle. From here, the Leprechaun wreaks havoc on the ship, killing everyone in sight to be able to rescue the princess. He eventually does find his way to the princess, and he has to do battle with the captain of the ship. As the ship is about to be completely destroyed, the Leprechaun comes into contact with a potion the captain was working on. It makes the Leprechaun grow to a much larger size, as the remaining survivors of the ship have an even larger obstacle to deal with.
