A 1996 documentary, Looking for Richard marks the directorial debut of iconic actor Al Pacino. The movie centers on the relevance and role of William Shakespeare and his work in today's modern world. In pursuing this objective, the film includes scenes from the performance of Shakespeare's Richard III. In addition to his directorial duties, Pacino joins other actors in the performance if these select scenes from Richard III. The film is rounded out with various interviews of a number of famous actors who have performed in Shakespearian plays, including Kenneth Branagh, John Gielgud, Kevin Kline, James Early Jones as well as Vanessa Redgrave.
