Momentum is a high-octane action thriller that stars Olga Kurylenko, James Purefoy, and Morgan Freeman. Directed by Stephen S. Campanelli, the film takes us on a wild ride with an edgy and non-stop plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. The story follows Alex Farraday (Olga Kurylenko), a skilled thief who is on the run after a heist gone wrong. As she tries to figure out how to escape the country, she crosses paths with a mysterious man known only as Mr. Washington (Morgan Freeman) who offers her a job stealing a valuable piece of technology from a powerful corporation. However, things quickly take a turn when she discovers that the technology contains sensitive information that puts her in danger, and she finds herself being pursued by a group of ruthless assassins led by the deadly Mr. Anderson (James Purefoy).

From there, the movie turns into a pulse-pounding game of cat and mouse as both Alex and Mr. Anderson try to outsmart each other while navigating a labyrinth of conspiracies and deadly secrets. Along the way, Alex must use all of her skills and cunning to stay alive and protect the people she cares about, while also trying to uncover the truth behind the dangerous technology she unwittingly stole.

The action in Momentum is non-stop and intense, with some truly impressive fight scenes and car chases that are sure to get your heart pumping. Olga Kurylenko shines as the leading lady, portraying Alex as a fierce and capable fighter who is also vulnerable and relatable. James Purefoy is equally impressive as the ruthless villain, bringing a sense of menace and cunning to his role that makes him a formidable foe to Alex.

Morgan Freeman, as always, gives a great performance as Mr. Washington, the enigmatic figure who sets everything in motion. While his screen time is limited, he makes the most of it and adds a level of prestige to the movie. The rest of the supporting cast is solid as well, with actors like Jenna Saras and Richard Lothian bringing depth and personality to their roles.

One of the things that sets Momentum apart from other action movies is its sleek visual style. Campanelli, who is also a seasoned cinematographer, uses a lot of handheld camera work and dynamic camera angles to give the film a gritty and kinetic feel. The lighting and color grading are also very atmospheric, with lots of deep shadows and neon accents that give the movie a distinct look.

In terms of flaws, Momentum suffers from a few plot holes and contrivances that can be a bit distracting. Some of the twists and turns feel a bit forced, and there are a few scenes that strain credibility. However, these issues don't detract too much from the overall experience of watching the movie. If anything, they add to the fun and escapism of it all.

Overall, Momentum is a thrilling and adrenaline-fueled ride that action fans will love. It's not a particularly deep or nuanced movie, but it delivers on its promises of fast-paced action and suspense. The strong performances from the cast, stylish visuals, and tight script make it a solid entry in the genre, and one that is definitely worth checking out.

Momentum is a 2015 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.5 and a MetaScore of 18.
