Nagavalli is a 2010 Telugu horror film directed by P. Vasu, starring Venkatesh Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Richa Langella in lead roles. The film is based on the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993) by Fazil. The film narrates the story of a family who moves into a new house and experiences supernatural occurrences. The family comprises of Srinivas (Venkatesh Daggubati), a doctor, his wife Lakshmi (Anushka Shetty), his sister-in-law Priya (Richa Langella), and his nephew Nandu. They move into a palatial house known as Kaliyuga Krishnamurthy's house, which has been vacant for over two decades.

The family soon realizes that the house is haunted by a spirit of a woman named Nagavalli. The spirit possesses Priya, and she starts behaving abnormally. Srinivas, who is an atheist, doesn't believe in supernatural occurrences initially, but as he starts witnessing them, he is convinced that the house is haunted. He seeks the help of a psychiatrist, Dr. Vijay (Kamalinee Mukherjee), who is also a close friend of his.

As Dr. Vijay starts treating Priya, she reveals her past life, where she was a princess named Nagavalli. She was in love with a commoner, but her father arranged her marriage with a prince. On the day of her wedding, she killed herself and cursed her family. She vowed to come back and avenge her death.

Dr. Vijay suggests that they perform a ritual called Maha Rudrabhishekam, which would calm the spirits and ward off any negative energy. However, things take a turn for the worse when Priya gets possessed by Nagavalli's spirit completely. She starts behaving erratically and starts attacking everyone in the house.

The climax of the film is intense and suspenseful, as Srinivas and Dr. Vijay try to exorcise the spirit out of Priya's body. The film has some impressive performances, especially by Venkatesh Daggubati, who convincingly portrays an atheist who gradually starts believing in ghosts. Anushka Shetty is also impressive in her dual role as Lakshmi and Nagavalli.

The film's strength lies in its well-crafted screenplay, which keeps the audience engaged throughout. The film also has some impressive VFX and sound design, which creates a creepy and haunting atmosphere. The music by Guru Kiran is atmospheric and adds to the overall suspense of the film.

Overall, Nagavalli is an entertaining horror film that is bound to keep the audience engaged from start to finish. It has a gripping storyline, strong performances and is a worthy adaptation of the Malayalam classic Manichitrathazhu. The film is a must-watch for anyone who loves horror films, especially for those who are familiar with the genre in Telugu cinema.
