Oka Laila Kosam is a Telugu romantic-comedy film released in 2014. The film is directed by Vijay Kumar Konda, who successfully launched Naga Chaitanya in his previous venture, the heart-warming drama "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" in 2013. The story of the movie revolves around the character of Karthik (Naga Chaitanya), an engineering student who falls in love with Nandana (Pooja Hegde) at first sight. Nandana is the daughter of a wealthy businessman named Naidu (Suman). The film takes off with a series of coincidences, where Karthik accidentally crosses paths with Nandana multiple times. After a few initial hiccups, the two begin to get to know each other better and discover that they share a deep connection. But Karthik is hesitant to confess his love to Nandana, as he is not sure if her family would accept him. Meanwhile, Naidu has already arranged Nandana's marriage to a rich businessman in the USA, played by Ashish Vidyarthi. Nandana agrees to the marriage, knowing that it would make her father happy. However, with Karthik's persistent attempts, Nandana eventually falls in love with him. As the plot thickens, Karthik discovers that Nandana's to-be-husband is none other than his own uncle, who had left his family many years ago. This revelation causes a significant problem as Karthik's father is not willing to let his brother's daughter marry his son. In the meantime, Naidu also comes to know about Nandana and Karthik's relationship and is infuriated by it. He goes to extreme lengths to keep them apart. The rest of the movie revolves around how Karthik and Nandana overcome various obstacles to be together. On one hand, Naidu is dead-set against his daughter's relationship with Karthik, and on the other hand, Karthik's own father is against the idea of his son marrying the daughter of his estranged brother. With the help of their friends, Karthik and Nandana hatch a plan to win over their families and establish their love. The performances in the film are decent, with Naga Chaitanya doing a good job. Pooja Hegde, who made her debut with this movie, has done an excellent job in her portrayal of Nandana. Her beauty and screen presence are impressive, and her chemistry with Naga Chaitanya is beautiful to watch. One of the highlights of the movie is the music by Anoop Rubens, who has delivered a great soundtrack for the film. The songs "Oka Laila Kosam," "Emo Evaritho," and "Koranne Varaname" are melodious and have become popular with the listeners. The cinematography by Andrew produces beautiful visuals, making the film a treat for the eyes. The locations are stunning, and the scenes, especially the song sequences, are visually appealing. In conclusion, Oka Laila Kosam is a fun and entertaining romantic-comedy movie with a beautiful message. The film might not break new ground, but it is enjoyable to watch for those who love romantic movies. The music and the visuals are a treat to watch, and the lead pair has delivered commendable performances. Overall, Oka Laila Kosam is a smooth and easy-to-watch film that is worth a try.
