"Peter Bell II: The Hunt For The Czar Crown" is about the exploits of young rascal Pietje Bell. When a watch is found missing at a local drugstore, and owner Geelman accuses Peitje, he is thrown in jail. While there he meets a band of colorful characters who help Peitje escape, and he is later proven innocent. The characters he meets in jail, however, prove useful, such as Jan Lampe, who is gang mate Willem Sproet's dad. He also meets crime lord Stark, who continued to organize crime from jail. Peitje uses his jail mates to create havoc and turmoil, and tilt favor his way.
