In the 1988 action-comedy film Red Heat, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Captain Ivan Danko, a no-nonsense Soviet cop who comes to Chicago to track down a dangerous drug lord who has escaped from Moscow. When Danko's partner is killed in the line of duty, he teams up with quirky Chicago detective Art Ridzik, played by James Belushi, to bring down the criminal mastermind Viktor Rostavili and his henchmen.

Danko's initial reluctance to work with Ridzik quickly fades as the two are forced to rely on each other to navigate the dangerous criminal underworld that Rostavili has established in Chicago. Ridzik is a loud-mouthed, quick-witted cop who is always ready with a snarky remark or a joke, but he proves to be a valuable ally as he helps Danko navigate the city and provides him with some much-needed cultural context.

As Danko and Ridzik dig deeper into Rostavili's operations, the stakes get higher and the action ramps up. There are car chases, shootouts, and even a thrilling chase through a crowded Chicago train station. Through it all, Schwarzenegger and Belushi have great chemistry, with Danko's stoic demeanor playing off of Ridzik's constant chatter.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Red Heat is the way it balances its action-heavy plot with moments of humor. Belushi's comedic talent is on full display as he hams it up in scenes like the one where he tries to teach Danko how to say "banana" with a Chicago accent.
