In "Replicas," Keanu Reeves plays William Foster, a brilliant neuroscientist and synthetic biologist who works for a company called Bionyne. While working on a project to transplant human consciousness into a synthetic body, William's wife Mona (Alice Eve) and their three children are killed in a car accident. Devastated, William cannot bear the thought of losing his family forever. He takes desperate measures and, with the help of his colleague Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch), uses cutting-edge technology to transfer the memories and consciousness of his family into synthetic bodies.

William's successful experiment comes with consequences, however. As he attempts to cover up the illegal procedure from his company and the authorities, he must also grapple with the moral implications of bringing his family back from the dead.

The stakes are raised when William discovers that not all of the transferred memories came back intact. His family members begin to experience glitches and memories from their past life that contradict their new identities. William must race against time to fix the glitches before his deceit is uncovered and his family is taken away from him again.
