Return to me is a romantic drama starring Minnie Driver and David Duchovny. This film is approximately two hours and contains some medical themes. This film starts with Bob and his wife Elizabeth working in the Lincoln Park Zoo. However, Bob's world is soon turned upside down when his wife is killed in a car accident. Elizabeth was listed as an organ donor, and they were able to salvage her heart. At the same time, in the hospital's intensive care unit, a patient named Grace Briggs is barely clinging to life and in need of a heart transplant. As luck would have it, she is prepped for surgery and given Elizabeth's heart. The operation is a success, and Grace slowly recovers. Because Bob is still heartbroken from the death of his wife and depressed, Bob's friend Charlie arranges a blind date for him at an Italian restaurant. Bob doesn't get along well with his date but does become interested in the waitress, who happens to be Grace, the owner's granddaughter. As the two continue to see each other socially, Bob struggles with the fact that he cares for her but still misses his wife, and Grace is afraid that he will find her surgery scars a turn-off and tries to hide her medical past from Bob. Eventually Bob tells Grace of his wife's death, and as part of the donor program, Grace writes a letter to the donor's family thanking them for her heart. She doesn't know that it is really Bob she sends the letter to but discovers it later in his home and tells him the truth. At first he doesn't want to see her thinking that he is only attracted to her because she has his wife's heart. Finally he comes to his senses and, when it's almost too late, catches Grace before she leaves the country, and the two get back together.
