In "Revolver", Jason Statham plays Jake Green, a world-class gambler who spent seven years in solitary confinement. His cell was between two of the finest criminal masterminds in the world. Due to the fact that Jake is a captive audience for seven years he overhears their conversations about how to commit the best cons in the world and get away with it. Upon his release he applies these new found skills and makes a fortune. He is forced do to unforeseen circumstances to take part in an extremely high-stakes poker game, which he ends up winning. Then of course ends up insulting one of the city’s biggest organized crime bosses, who wants to get his lost money back. The only way he knows how to make Jake's life as tough as possible. All the while, Jake meets loan sharks, who he thinks works for the mob boss. He took a lot of money from the poker game. The loan sharks kidnap Jake and tell him that they are going to take him for every dollar he is worth. So they systematically begin using Jake's money as the basis for their loans or at least Jake thinks they are in reality; however, they are taking Jake's money and giving it to the people that owe money to the crime boss, so they can pay their debts. The loan sharks are also stealing every penny from every business and illegal deal that the crime boss operates. They also end up giving to charity and donate it under the crime bosses name who then sees his charitable works in the paper and decide not to pursue the matter of the theft any further as he realizes that all these donations will give him a new public image. The twist to the movie is finding out exactly how the loan sharks stole all this money and the real purpose it was used for. This movie is for anyone that likes dark psychological thriller mysteries.
