River Runs Red is a 2018 crime thriller film directed by Wes Miller and starring Taye Diggs, John Cusack, George Lopez, and Luke Hemsworth. The movie's plot revolves around the story of three fathers who decide to take the law into their own hands when they find out that the justice system has failed them. The story begins with Charles Coleman (Taye Diggs), a respected judge, who faces every parent's worst nightmare when his son is shot and killed by two corrupt police officers on his 18th birthday. The police officers, who have a history of using excessive force, are put on trial, but the prosecution team fails to indict them for the crime.

Frustrated with the justice system's inability to recognize the corrupt behavior of these police officers, Charles, along with two other fathers, Javier (George Lopez) and Dante (Luke Hemsworth), decide to take matters into their own hands. They seek out retribution for their murdered children, and in doing so, risk everything they have.

The three men plan and execute a plan to capture the two corrupt police officers and bring them to justice. However, when the officers fight back, the situation quickly spirals out of control, and the fathers find themselves in a deadly confrontation.

Meanwhile, Detective Horace (John Cusack) is tasked with investigating the vigilantes' actions and bringing them to justice. What follows is a thrilling game of cat and mouse, with each side trying to outmaneuver the other.

The movie is a gripping tale of justice, vengeance, and the lengths some people will go to protect their loved ones.

Taye Diggs shows his dramatic prowess, delivering a powerful performance as a father consumed by grief and driven by revenge. His character arc is compelling, culminating in an emotional confrontation with the corrupt police officers.

John Cusack brings his signature intensity to the role of Detective Horace. He is an experienced detective who knows how to play the game and is not afraid to get his hands dirty to bring the fathers of the vigilantes to justice.

George Lopez delivers an earnest performance as Javier, a father who has lost his son to police brutality and feels he has nothing left to lose. Luke Hemsworth is also solid in his role as the determined and level-headed Dante.

Overall, River Runs Red is a well-made crime thriller that tackles issues of police brutality and vigilante justice. It highlights the frustrations and powerlessness that parents feel when they cannot protect their children against a corrupt system. With a strong cast and a riveting storyline, this movie is definitely worth watching.

River Runs Red is a 2018 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.4 and a MetaScore of 26.
