Sailor Steve and Kay, a peasant girl, fall in love. She longs to be one of the beautiful dancing girls in the music hall and he dreams of earning his fortune in finance. A kindly millionaire finds the couple and takes pity, teaching and coaching the two to their fame. Steve quickly makes enough for a good living and wants Kay to stay at home. When her career threatens her relationship with Steve she must decide if she will give up her dreams for him or is their marriage is at an end.
