The movie Something Borrowed is a comical but emotionally charged romantic comedy about friendship, love triangles, and regret. The story revolves around a pair of best friends: Rachel, played by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Darcy played by Kate Hudson, as well as the man in their life Dex, played by Colin Egglesfield. The story goes like this: Rachel and Dex were classmates and close friends while in law school. One night when Rachel is on the verge of telling Dex that she has feelings for him, her best friend Darcy interrupts their date, causing Rachel to back out and head for the hills. As a result, Darcy and Dex hit it off, forcing Rachel to bury her feelings. The movie fast forwards to the current day when Darcy and Dex are engaged and making the final preparations for their wedding. But one night Rachel lets her long buried feelings for Dex creep to the surface and she declares that she always had a crush on him going back to law school. Dex then reveals that he always shared the same feelings for Rachel, and the two spend the night together. After spending the night together, the movie goes into a tailspin. Dex and Rachel continue to see each other in secret, as they try to keep Darcy from finding out. At the same time, the wedding date between Darcy and Dex is creeping closer and closer, but there's no indication that Dex is willing to break off the engagement with Darcy to be with Rachel, and Rachel is fearful of hurting her best friend and is unsure of how to proceed. Ultimately, with a little help from long time friend Ethan, played by John Krasinski, things to come to ahead, with devastating results. Something borrowed will make you laugh, while at the same time tug at your heart strings and make you feel for characters, who are all put in an impossible situation. It's a great movie to take in.
