Watch Suffragette

"Mothers. Daughters. Rebels."

The movie "Suffragette" is the true story of how women were organized in England in the 1800's, in order to be given the right to vote. The movie tells the story of how women were abused physically, mentally, socially and politically by many men who thought that women should remain home and take care of their husbands and families.

The movie explains the struggle and anguish that hundreds of women suffered, even to the point of incarceration, so all women could gain equality. This is a powerful true story that brings history to life, and educates the young women of today, with what the struggle was like over a hundred years ago.

Even though women did not get the vote in England until 1928 in England, and 1921 in the United States, this motion picture details the mistreatment that women in general received from their own government, and their own husbands, in order to be treated with dignity.
