Super Me is a 2019 Chinese fantasy movie directed by Zhang Chong and featuring a talented cast of actors lead by Talu Wang, Jia Song, and Kevin Lee. The film follows the story of Sang Yu (Talu Wang), a struggling screenwriter who finds a secret ability to bring his own dreams to life, causing unimaginable changes in his reality. Sang Yu is a young man who lives in poverty, working long hours at various odd jobs to make ends meet. His only solace is writing in his diary, where he pours out his thoughts and ideas for the crime thriller screenplay that he's been working on for months. Despite his efforts and talent, he has yet to find success and is beginning to lose his motivation. However, that all changes when a strange series of events lead him to discover a supernatural power that he never knew he had.

One day, on his way home, Sang Yu saves a powerful businessman, Zhong (Kevin Lee), from a robbery attempt. In gratitude, Zhong invites him to a masquerade ball where he is introduced to Xiaosa (Jia Song), an enigmatic woman who captures his attention. Sang Yu, who is still reeling from the discovery of his unusual ability, soon realizes that everything he imagines or dreams becomes real, including the beautiful Xiaosa.

As he begins to experiment with his new power, he becomes increasingly lost in his own fantasy world. He creates a luxurious apartment for himself, a fancy car, and starts to attract a lot of attention with his newfound wealth. However, everything soon starts to fall apart as Sang Yu realizes that he is in too deep, and he is struggling to separate reality from his vivid dreams.

Super Me is a beautifully crafted movie that expertly blends fantasy with reality, offering viewers an original take on the classic "be careful what you wish for" narrative. The film boasts some impressive visuals, with Sang Yu's vivid dreams coming to life in stunning detail. From the opulent cityscapes to the lush green forests, the movie is a real visual feast that immerses the audience in Sang Yu's world.

The characters are also expertly portrayed, with Talu Wang giving a standout performance as the tormented Sang Yu. Despite his successes, Sang Yu remains a fundamentally flawed character, and Wang does an excellent job of capturing his despair and confusion as he struggles to navigate his newly found reality. Jia Song, as Xiaosa, also delivers a top-notch performance, exuding a mysterious aura that draws the viewer in from the get-go.

One of the things that really sets Super Me apart from other fantasy movies is its emphasis on the consequences of desire. Instead of presenting the usual "hero saves the day" story, the film dares to explore the darker side of what it means to fulfill one's deepest wishes. As Sang Yu gets lost in his own ego-fueled dreams, it becomes clear that there are always unintended consequences to our actions, and that sometimes the things we want the most can have the most destructive impact on our lives.

Overall, Super Me is a gripping, thought-provoking movie that is sure to delight fantasy fans and lovers of great storytelling alike. With a cast of talented actors, stunning visuals, and a truly original narrative, it's a must-watch for anyone looking for something a little bit out of the ordinary.
