The Christmas Candle
"The Christmas Candle" is a movie adaptation of Max Lucado's famous novel by the same name. The movie is centered around a young priest named David Richmond who is being moved to preach in Gladbury in 1890. Legend has it that an angel visits the city every 25 years to touch a candle made by the local candle maker. This candle is said to grant a Christmas wish to whoever lights it. When David, who is having some trouble with his faith and belief in miracles, arrives in Gladbury he brings with him the science of electricity in the hopes that this will benefit and excite the small town. It turns out that this is not received well by all, especially not by the local candle maker who fears this new invention will drive him out of business. Soon after David's arrival the candle goes missing, forcing the town to reflect on their beliefs in miracles and in each other.
