Watch The Danish Poet

The Danish Poet is an animated film that is a joint production of Canadaian and Norwegian film boards. It concerns the creative struggles of a Danish poet in the 1940s who is encouraged to travel to Norway to seek the counsel of a famous writer. He is unexpectedly sidetracked when he falls in love with a farmer's daughter who is betrothed to another man. The poet returns to Denmark, and his love promises not to cut her hair until he comes back to Norway. The rest of the story follows the unlikely path on which fate sends the two lovers.
