Farewell Moscow

This authentic story of a Jewish woman living in the Soviet Union is brought to the screen by Italian director Mauro Bolognini and stars Liv Ullman. When Ida Nudel applies to leave the U.S.S.R., she suffers not only from the absurdist bureaucracy of the process, but also the worse kinds of hardship the state could inflict, namely isolation in a psychiatric ward, hard labor in Siberia and prison. This is a tale of survival in brutal circumstances.
