The film entitled The Mudge Boy is about the life and challenges of a young man called Duncan Mudge. Duncan Mudge is known for his timid, reserved and calm nature. He is also very confused about his sexuality. Duncan Mudge lives on a farm alone with his father following the death of his mother whom he loved so much. His father is a very strict and overprotective man who monitors and supervises every move that Duncan makes.

After his mother died, Duncan grows to love one of his chickens so much that his father thinks he is transferring all the love he had for his mother to the chicken. Duncan refers to the chicken as his favorite chicken, and he carries it wherever he is going. He even takes the chicken to bed when he is going to sleep. Duncan also wears his late mother’s dresses and this act worries his father so much that he becomes confused.

A group of narrow minded teenagers in the area ban him from being part of them or even joining their group due to his strange behaviors. However, they later decide to allow him to become a part of them for fun. Duncan is surrounded by so much grief and suffers within himself because of things he cannot change about his life. He becomes attracted to a young man in the area known as Perry and when the others find out they rebel against him forcing him to abandon the lifestyle which he loves.

The characters in the film include Emile Hirsch starring as Duncan Mudge, Tom Guiry starring as Perry, Richard Jenkins starring as Edgar, Pablo Schreiber starring as Brent, Zachary Knighton starring as Travis, Ryan Donowho starring as Scotty, Meredith Handerhan starring as Tonya, Beckie King starring as April.

The film was written by Michael Burke who also directed it. It was edited by Affonso Goncalves.
