Mary and Joe have been living together for quite a while. Joe is aiming to be an actor, but he just does not have what it takes to become a superstar. For now, Joe works as a waiter, and Mary is a premium stylist. Joe finally lowers his standards and takes a job in a Madonna video. However, Joe observes one of his best friends become a superstar in a soap opera. Joe realizes that everything happens for a reason. Joe also realizes that life is funny the way it turns out sometimes. Things do not go according to plan.
