Watch The Return of Martin Guerre

Set in a small town in the southwest of sixteenth century France, The Return of Martin Guerre centers around Martin's return home from war, after having been away for nearly a decade. Martin returns to his wife Bertrande and his father's farm, eager to pick up where he left off before leaving to fight. Yet the villagers become suspicious of Martin, questioning whether he truly is who he claims to be. When confronted though, Martin is able to recall accurate information on friends and family alike. Is Martin truly Martin Guerre, or have the villagers been duped by an impostor?
