The Thomas Crown Affair
- 1 hr 53 min
In this 1999 John McTiernan remake of the 1968 classic of the same name, Thomas Crown (Pierce Brosnan) is a handsome, cultured billionaire who enjoys conducting elaborate multi-million dollar art heists in his spare time. His latest scheme is the daring daytime theft of the priceless Monet painting "San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk," which is housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York's most secure museum. Crown pulls off the stunt without a hitch, but his celebration is cut short when he learns insurance investigator Catherine Banning (Rene Russo) has been brought in to assist NYPD Detective Michael McCann (Denis Leary) in solving the crime. Banning is beautiful, sophisticated, and can match Crown's intellect every step of the way. As each tries to outwit the other, Crown and Banning engage in an increasingly flirtatious game of cat and mouse that pushes them to outer limits of danger, excitement, adventure and romance.
