Making a world premiere during the Sundance Film Festival of 2010, the documentary, “The Tillman Story,” revolves around the rise and fall of Pat Tillman; an Arizona Cardinal defensive back and war “hero.” Labeled as a war hero after his death, the in-depth investigation into his story finds a tale of military cover-ups and his family’s own private battle into the truth surrounding his death.

It was 2002 and America was ready to go to war with Iraq because of the 9/11 attacks against them. Even though Pat Tillman had signed up with the Arizona Cardinals, he felt the need to serve in the U.S. Army during the war efforts. During a reconnaissance mission on the Pakistani border, he was shot to death.

The army claimed his death was none other than Tillman’s heroics as he thwarted the gunfire of a band of Taliban insurgents. While the story painted a wonderful picture of their son, the Tillman family knew something was wrong with this story. The Tillman’s were openly against the war and so was Pat, once he found out the truth in what was happening. His parents opted to inquire into the death of their son with an investigation.

As the testimony was heard from soldiers in the area at the time of Tillman’s death, the truth became clear
