"The THRILL of great music... the LAUGHTER of youth... the TENDERNESS of age"

Frankie is a poor boy growing up in the tenements of New York City. After coming upon a thrown-away ticket for the orchestra, he becomes enthralled with the violin playing of Jascha Heifetz. It turns out that Frankie has an ear for music, and he has a chance to study at a good music school. Unfortunately, the school is having trouble staying afloat financially.

The 1939 Archie Mayo directed They Shall Have Music stars Heifetz as himself. Frankie’s first encounter with music leads him to hope that the violin master might be able to help him save his school.
