Unaccompanied Minors is about a group of kids who get stuck at the airport during a blizzard. Spencer and Katherine Davenport are on their way to visit their father for Christmas, but the snowstorm has canceled their flight. Therefore, because they are unaccompanied minors, they must wait out the storm with other kids that are also stuck at the airport on their own. These kids include Charlie, Donna and Beef. The group quickly learns to get along and work together to fight boredom. They sneak out of the room where they are confined and wreak havoc all around the airport. Airport official Oliver Porter notices how much trouble the kids are causing and sends them to a hotel near the airport. In the meantime, Spencer and Katherine's dad tries to battle the snowstorm and make it to the airport to see his kids. As the kids spend more time together, they form a stronger bond that leads them to exhibit acts of kindness toward one another. The group realizes that they may be spending Christmas at the airport so they come up with one last wild scheme to have a holiday that they will never forget. Set against the backdrop of the busy holiday season, Unaccompanied Minors uses a playful style to showcase the headaches that can occur with holiday travel. It also displays the power of imagination in children, as the kids repeatedly foil Oliver's plans to keep them confined. Their curious nature is only trumped by their willingness to spread a little holiday cheer to all those that are forced to spend Christmas at an airport. The desire of Spencer and Katherine's dad to make it to the airport to see his kids shows the strong bond between parent and child. There are few obstacles that a parent will not try to overcome when the parent senses that his or her child is in some kind of peril.
