A group of young African American men in Cleveland, Ohio form a revolutionary group determined to find equality between the races. This choice brings them into contact with the law, who attempt to break up the group by rounding up the members as they become more and more radicalized. One of the members of the group, Tank is going through major problems in his home life and is struggling to support his wife and growing family. Tank agrees to help another group member, Johnny to see his mother before the police find him, a decision that sees both men embark on a difficult journey.
