Watch Voyage of the Damned
- 2 hr 35 min
In 1939, the MS St. Louis departed from Hamburg, Germany with 937 Jewish passengers, who were told their destination was Cuba. But regardless of the motives of their crew, they see eventual freedom from the Nazi atrocities that fill their homeland. The Cuban government refuses the ship entry, as does the United States. It is slowly determined that the trip has not been a rescue, but a Nazi propaganda exercise. The Nazis maliciously intended to show the Jewish people that no country was interested in saving them, thereby releasing Germany from responsibility for their attempted destruction.
