Walking with Dinosaurs is a BBC Earth family film that uses breath taking natural shots and combines it with CGI created dinosaurs to bring to life the story of Patchi, an underdog Pachyrhinosaurus trying to find his place in the Late Cretaceous. The movie opens with an uncle taking his niece and nephew to look for dinosaur bones. His nephew stays behind by e car and encounters a bird that transforms into a feathered dinosaur named Alex that is the narrator of the story and Patchi's friend.

Patchi is first introduced as the runt of his family and gets into trouble straight off as a carnivore tries to make Patchi his meal. As Patchi grows up he encounters new dinosaurs, which are introduced to the audience as well, and has to confront obstacles with his brother Scowler, love interest Juniper and of course Alex.
