The movie follows the story of Dusty Crophopper, a crop-dusting plane with big dreams of becoming a racing plane. Voiced by Dane Cook, Dusty is a humble and hardworking plane, who spends his days spraying fields in the small town of Propwash Junction. But deep down, he dreams of flying in the sky with the world's fastest planes. Despite his lowly status as a crop-duster, Dusty has a natural talent for flying and a strong desire to prove himself.
One day, he takes a chance and enters Wings Across the World, a famous around-the-world air race. With the help of his friends including fuel truck Chug (Carlos Alazraqui) and his mentor, the veteran fighter plane Skipper (Stacy Keach), Dusty trains and prepares for the race.
Along the way, Dusty meets a colorful cast of characters including El Chupacabra, a Mexican plane with a flamenco band; Ishani, an Indian plane with a background in aerobatics; and Ripslinger, a rival racing plane who tries to sabotage Dusty's dreams.
As they travel across the world, Dusty and his friends face various challenges and obstacles. They fly over treacherous mountains, through dangerous storms, and even get caught in a fierce dogfight with a swarm of fighter jets. Through it all, Dusty learns the importance of friendship, determination, and believing in himself.
