Young and Dangerous 5 is an action-packed crime drama movie which was released in 1998. It is the fifth installment in the popular Young and Dangerous franchise which revolves around the lives of notorious triad gangsters in Hong Kong. The movie stars Ekin Cheng, Shu Qi, and Kar Lok Chin in the lead roles. The movie starts with the release of Chan Ho Nam, played by Ekin Cheng, from prison after serving a 3-year sentence for manslaughter. Upon his release, he finds out that his former triad gang, the Hung Hing, has disbanded and fragmented into several smaller factions. Chan, along with his loyal friends Chicken, played by Jordan Chan, and Chou pan, played by Jerry Lam, decides to regroup and revive the Hung Hing.

As Chan slowly puts his plan into action, he meets Smartie, played by Shu Qi, who happens to be working for the rival triad group, the Tung Sing. Even though she initially opposes Chan and his group's activities, she gradually develops feelings for Chan and starts to help him with his quest to reunite the Hung Hing.

Meanwhile, the Tung Sing, led by the ruthless and cunning Crow, played by Roy Cheung, won't let the Hung Hing regroup that easily. Crow sends his men to attack and sabotage their operations, further escalating the tension between the two triad groups.

As the conflict between the Hung Hing and the Tung Sing intensifies, Chan and his friends must use all their street smarts and fighting skills to protect themselves and take down their enemies. Amidst all this chaos, Chan also finds out about a secret from his past which would change everything.

The movie offers a gritty and realistic portrayal of the triad gangs in Hong Kong. The action sequences are intense and well-choreographed, keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats.
