Zombie Apocalypse was an American thriller, action and horror film created by the SYFY channel in conjunction with The Asylum. The film starred Ving Rhames, Gary Weeks, Johnny Pacar, Robert Blanche, Anya Monzikova, Lesley Ann Brandt and Taryn Manning. The film did not recieve a theatrical release as it was a made for television movie; it did, however, get a DVD release through The Asylum DVD distrubution. The film was released on the SYFY channel on the 29th of October, 2011. The film begins in flashbacks, showing the evolution of a virus called the VM2, a disease which causes humans to turn into rabid zombies, walking corpses that feed on human flesh. A French woman is infected and, within four weeks, over eighty three percent of the European population has been turned. The story proper opens with and revolves around the meeting of two groups of survivors, one led by Ramona (Taryn Manning) and the other led by Henry (Ving Rhames) who are scavenging for resources in a infected town. They decided that the only way to survive the zombie onslaught is to work together, but distrust and anger run rampant and threaten everything. Zombie Apocalypse is recommended for mature audiences only and features extreme and graphic violence, grotesque images and mature language.
