In 18if season 1 episode 4 titled The Witch of Gluttony, we follow Haruto as he dives into a dream world once again to help a girl named Nene who is struggling with her uncontrollable desire to eat. Haruto teams up with a witch named Parfait who is also struggling with her own demons.
The episode begins with Haruto meeting Kaoru Hirasaka, a writer who is researching for his latest book on witches. Kaoru mentions a witch called Veronica who was rumored to have died of hunger. As Haruto enters a dream world, he finds himself in a food court where he meets Nene who is obsessed with eating. Nene tells Haruto that she is unable to stop eating, and it's causing problems in her personal and professional life.
Haruto realizes that Nene's dream is being haunted by the witch Veronica, who has been summoned by Nene's insatiable hunger. Veronica is a terrifying creature with a huge stomach, who devours everything in her path, including other witches. Veronica tells Haruto and Nene that she is planning on eating Nene, and there's nothing they can do about it.
Haruto manages to escape with Nene and they head to Parfait's mansion, an eccentric witch who is known for her cooking skills. Haruto hopes to get Parfait's help to defeat Veronica. However, Haruto and Nene discover that Parfait is also struggling with her own issues related to food.
Parfait tells Haruto and Nene that she was cursed by a fairy who wanted her cooking skills. However, the curse made Parfait's food so irresistible that everyone who tasted it became obsessed with eating, causing them to become sick and eventually die. Parfait was forced to leave her home and live alone in isolation, fearing that she might cause more harm to others.
Parfait decides to help Haruto and Nene by cooking a special meal to lure Veronica and trap her. The plan works, and Parfait's cooking manages to change Veronica's view on food. As Veronica becomes more human-like, she realizes that her obsession with food was a result of her longing for companionship, as she had been alone for centuries.
Veronica finally parts ways with Haruto and Nene, and we see her smiling for the first time, indicating that she has found a new sense of purpose. Nene thanks Haruto and Parfait for their help, and we see her eating in moderation, indicating that she has found a way to control her desire to eat.
The episode ends with Haruto meeting up with Kaoru once again, who is excited about his new book on witches. Haruto tells him about Nene and Veronica's story, indicating that every witch has a unique story to tell.
Overall, The Witch of Gluttony is a heartwarming episode that highlights the importance of companionship and the struggles of addiction. It also explores the dark side of human desires and how they can lead to dire consequences. The animation quality and soundtrack are also top-notch, adding to the immersive experience of the dream world.
