Gary has a difficult time coping with the death of his friend Jon, especially as he tries to fill the void in his life with frivolous activities and hookups. Along with the rest of the gang, he tries to move on and support his friends, especially Eddie, who is spiraling out of control due to his addiction to painkillers. Meanwhile, Regina has to navigate her relationship with her mother, who has just arrived in town to stay with her daughter. As she tries to reconnect with her estranged parent, Regina also has to grapple with her lingering feelings for Andrew, the man she left behind in order to marry her husband.
Meanwhile, Delilah, who is pregnant with Jon's baby, has to come to terms with her husband's affair and her own betrayal of Jon. As she tries to keep her pregnancy a secret from her children and her friends, Delilah also has to navigate the complicated world of co-parenting with her husband's mistress. And Rome, who finally seems to have found success in his career, is finally forced to confront his lingering depression and anxiety when he starts experiencing panic attacks.
In this episode, the gang says goodbye to Jon in a touching memorial service. Although they are all still grappling with their grief, they manage to come together to celebrate his life and legacy. Meanwhile, Maggie finds herself torn between her growing feelings for Gary and her desire to move on from her ex-boyfriend's death. As she tries to decide whether to pursue a relationship with Gary, Maggie also has to deal with her own secrets and insecurities. And Eddie, who is finally beginning to get help for his addiction, faces a difficult decision when he is offered a potentially dangerous opportunity.
As the gang tries to move on from Jon's death and find their own paths in life, they come to realize that they are stronger together than they ever were alone. Although they may never be able to replace their friend, they can honor his memory by living their lives to the fullest and cherishing every moment they have with one another. In the end, they realize that life is full of goodbyes, but that doesn't mean they have to go through them alone. Together, they can face whatever challenges come their way and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before.
